How To Eat Healthy During Stressful Times?

All of us experience some kind of stress at one point or other in our lives. During stressful times, we become oblivious to what we eat. We tend to eat whatever is convenient and gorge on comfort foods such as candies, caffeinated drinks, cakes, and other low-fibre foods. In my case, I drink coffee when I am highly stressed and feeling anxious.

We mostly resort to unhealthy eating habits such as eating less whole foods, vegetables and fruits. This may in the long run lead to higher insulin resistance, high visceral fat and type 2 diabetes.

As per data recorded by the American Psychological Association, 78% of adults had increased or unchanged stress levels in the last five years.
